Progenitor cell self-renewal and cyclic neutropenia.
OBJECTIVES Cyclic neutropenia (CN) is a rare genetic disorder where patients experience regular cycling of numbers of neutrophils and various other haematopoietic lineages. The nadir in neutrophil count is the main source of problems due to risk of life-threatening infections. Patients with CN benefit from granulocyte colony stimulating factor therapy, although cycling persists. Mutations in ne...
متن کاملCyclic wavelet systems in prime dimensional linear vector spaces
Finite affine groups are given by groups of translations and di- lations on finite cyclic groups. For cyclic groups of prime order we develop a time-scale (wavelet) analysis and show that for a large class of non-zero window signals/vectors, the generated full cyclic wavelet system constitutes a frame whose canonical dual is a cyclic wavelet frame.
متن کاملStochastic Impulsive Systems Driven by Renewal Processes
Abstract— Stochastic impulsive systems are defined by a diffusion process with jumps triggered by a renewal process, i.e., the intervals between jumps are independent and identically distributed. We construct a model for such systems based on jump-diffusion equations and provide Lyapunov-based conditions that guarantee their mean-square stability. As an application, we show that stochastic impu...
متن کاملOptimal Renewal Policy for Slowly Degrading Systems
In the paper we address the problem of determining the optimal time to renew a system when it experiences so called soft failures because of aging. It is assumed that crash failures, which reduce the service rate to 0 immediately, do not occur. However, the service rate of the examined system gradually decreases with time and settles to a very low value. Since the performance in this state is v...
